The apathy of the Obergruppenfuhrer was easy to read as he stood in the doorway. There had not been much news from the front for some weeks. He'd learned that sometimes it was like this. Monotonous and quiet. It was things people wouldn't expect it to be unless they lived it themselves. There are these times when nothing happens for a while. There always are. He recalled his place in the first world war. Then some things happen and it's either celebratory, worth the wait, or you wish it hadn't happened. At least there was longer time to relax in the civilian world. He didn't need a guard up like he did back then, though it was hard to remember. He leaned on the railing, taking a tin case and a lighter from his pocket and rolling a cigarette. The rain poured down, spattering the front of his boots and staining, reminding him of his own composure. He took a final drag then dropped the thing and put it out, looking off to the left onto the streets. The houses were densely packed together in this area, some tall and some short in uneven rows. Some had balconies, the rest simple brown facades. A rigid looking neighborhood. There were few passerbys in the area at a time today. It was an unassuming place to occupy. He thought little of it than that. Finished with his break he turned to get out of the rain, once inside closing the door to the lobby of the once hotel turned political headquarters.
setting: munich, germany. 1941 | word count: 248 | tags: n/a | ooc notes: this is open for any characters politically allied with germany who know garrett. they might have news of an event that occurred in the war, they might be planning things out, or they might be bored as well. him and a group of others are staying at a hotel they bought off entirely (but temporarily) as an hq for conferences. enemies most likely would not be aware of the location. things are slowly leading up to a conference with other members of the axis.
